Position Chief Adventure Travel Guide Location of Employment Part Time Oxford, Part Time Mongolia, in all likelihood, summers in Mongolia, winters in the UK but dependent on work. Commencement of Employment Available immediately Duration of Contract For a minimum of nine months, can be extended up to one full year, further extension is subject to negotiations with management but possible. Applicant Requirements The Company is looking for candidates that are very well educated, good with people, experienced with international travel especially in and throughout Mongolia. Preference will be given to those who can speak Mongolian or who are prepared to learn to speak it in a short period of time. Tour guiding experience in locations such as Nepal, Tibet, Australia, New Zealand, Costa Rica, Thailand as well as other central Asian countries are encouraged to apply. Description of Environment Mongolian Resorts is a five year old adventure travel company and currently on of the top ten largest tourism companies in Mongolia. Company is growing rapidly and needs talented, adventurous and experienced tour guides to assist with the company’s growth both in Mongolia as well as Europe, North America and Asia. The company is part of the Asia Pacific Investment Partners Group of companies, a medium sized investment operating company engaged in a number of businesses including, real estate development, estate agency, property management, tourism, entertainment, cashmere, and corporate and government advisory. Description of Employment The position would require extensive marketing and advertising during the off season which would require travel to tourism exhibitions in London, Germany and several other locations within Europe and potentially the United States and Asia. The candidate would responsible for building the bookings during the off season while preparing for the tourism season in Mongolia. During the tourism season the candidate would be responsible for managing all aspects of the business in Mongolia which includes management of the restaurant, guest house, the ger camp resort and all of the tours sent throughout the country during the five month tourism season. Conditions of Employment Housing: Will be provided in Mongolia and potentially in the Oxford office location. Transport: Position will provide vehicle for transportation and private driver whilst in Mongolia . Food and Entertainment: The applicant will be given food discounts at selected restaurants of the APIP group while in Mongolia. Entertainment expenses can be provided at selected locations while in Mongolia. Bonus Scheme: Position entitles candidate to be eligible for the company bonus scheme after six months of employment. Commissions: Candidate will be eligible for commissions on large groups tours brought in to the company. Tips: Candidate will be eligible to share tips from large groups with the tour guide team. Health Insurance: Candidate eligible for subsidized health care after 6 months of employment. Salary: Commensurate with experience. Starting at USD16,000 per calendar year. Housing adds additional USD1,500 per month or USD18,000 per year. Total Package estimated to be approximately USD35,000-45,000 per year. Trial Period: Three months during which only salary included.
