Fashion and Retail Business Development Assistant (Summer Intern)

Location of Employment

Ulaanbaatar for the most part, possibility to go to various trade fares and exhibitions around the world as well as business trips to APIP’s various offices in Hong Kong, New York and Oxford.

Duration of Contract

For a minimum of three months, can be extended up to five months, further extension is subject to negotiations with management but possible.

Applicant Requirements

The applicant is not required to have previous experience in the retail and fashion industry but must be able to demonstrate flair and an understanding for the retail market of luxury Cashmere. It is important that the applicant has excellent sales skills as well as a good grasp of business practices in the UK and elsewhere. The applicant must have a strong grasp of the Microsoft Office Suite as well an understanding of the basic concepts of fashion and clothing.

Description of Environment

Moda Mongolia is at the moment a very small operation with enormous potential. With a shop in Ulaanbaatar and a shop in Oxford the company is in full expansion and in need for talented people to help take it to its full capacity. Moda Mongolia is moving into the luxury wholesale business and is keen to open further stores in the United Kingdom as well as a chain of retails outlets in North America.


Description of Employment

While Moda Mongolia is a small company there is much room for growth and Asia Pacific Investment Partners is keen to help it reach its potential, the applicant will have to take part in most jobs associated with growing a small business such as basic accounting, building a business plan, contacting clients, creating a database, meeting suppliers and wholesalers, deciding on fashions and transport of the goods to various clients and retail outlets throughout the world.

Working within the fashion industry and in Moda Mongolia as a whole will give the applicant an excellent practical grasp and understanding of all the aspects of the fashion and retail industry as well as provide excellent contacts within the industry.


Conditions of Employment

600USD a month per month of employment, days outside of the month will be paid on a pro-rata basis. Travel (both international and domestic), food and board will all be paid for by the company. Bonuses will be available dependent on performance.
