Venture Associate - SME Development (Summer Intern)

Location of Employment

Ulaanbaatar for the most part, possibility of business trips to APIP’s various offices in Hong Kong, New York and Oxford.

Duration of Contract

For a minimum of three months, can be extended up to five months, further extension is subject to negotiations with management but possible.

Applicant Requirements

The applicant is not required to have previous experience in the field of venture capital but is required to be currently enrolled on a business degree, preferably in second or third year of university and have an excellent grasp of business practices. The applicant also needs to be proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite as well as the Windows operating system.

Description of Environment

Asia Pacific Investment Partners has been in operation for about 5 years and in that time has grown to own and operate eight companies in Mongolia and is in the process of forming a new one called Belgravia International Investments. Of the eight companies currently operating in Mongolia under the banner of Asia Pacific Investment Partners some need to be grown extensively to breach new markets and consolidate existing ones.

Description of Employment

A lot of ground work is still required to be done in order to set up the operating structure of Belgravia International Investments. The job will entail due diligence, market research, and financial analysis of the company, website development and design as well as content generation. The applicant will also be involved in the ground work of the operations of Asia Pacific Investment Partners in Mongolia and abroad getting a good grasp on the various operating procedures in place and managing various small scale projects to bring them to fruition.

Working in Mongolia can be enormous fun and extremely rewarding if you are willing to immerse yourself in the local culture, adapt to ever changing situations and environments. Working at the heart of APIP is a fascinating experience, while most of the work is concentrated around the basic tasks of making sure the various businesses operate smoothly it also involves the creation and set up of a new company in London, a process in which the applicant would be fully immersed.

Conditions of Employment

600USD a month per month of employment, days outside of the month will be paid on a pro-rata basis. Travel (both international and domestic), food and board will all be paid for by the company. Bonuses will be available dependent on performance.
