Mongolian Institute for Sustainable Economic Development

Mongolia is blessed with numerous natural resources, a rich history and culture, and a pristine environment, as well as a promising economic future. In order to preserve these resources, Mongolia must continue its economic growth in a sustainable manner.  Sustainable economic development is the recognition that a country's prosperity lies in the joint achievement of economic, environmental, and social well-being. Sustainable development can achieve these goals meeting the needs of the present without sacrificing the future.

The Mongolian Institute for Sustainable Economic Development (MISED) was established in 2009 in order to fill a conspicuous void in Mongolia in the field of sustainable development.  Many organizations have researched sustainable options for the country, but few of their ideas have actually been put into place successfully.  Sustainable development in Mongolia so far has fallen well short of the natural potential offered by the country and its resources.  MISED exists to succeed where past attempts have failed: to turn ideas into actual developments and to find sustainable solutions with practical commercial applications.

In addition to synthesizing the wealth of previous research done by other organizations, MISED conducts original research, processes and analyzes the results and presents our clients with practical commercial solutions to sustainability problems.  MISED relies on a wide consultation network of scholars and experts in many fields in addition to a small and highly qualified full-time staff.   We provide consultation services to the Mongolian government, corporations, and other organizations.  Our fields of expertise are varied and include the Mongolian ecosystem, natural resources, sustainable energies, construction and development, mining, and agriculture.
