Moda Mongolia was established in 2002 as a luxury cashmere producer. Moda Mongolia produces 100% pure Mongolian luxury cashmere. Following the success of Moda Mongolia outlets in Ulaanbaatar an outlet was opened in Oxford, UK. Initaily working to create cashmire, Moda Mongolia soon moved on to the design aspects of production, employing an award winning Italian designer who creates original cashmere products unique to Moda Mongolia.

Cashmere is a type of yarn, created from fibres collected from wool of the cashmere goat, predominantly found in Mongolia and China. Characterized by its soft fibres that must be under 18.5 mircrometres in diameter and at least 3.175 centermetres long, cashmere provides naturally light-weight insulation free from bulk. Cashmere fibres are particularly adaptable and easily constructed into fine or to thick yarns, and light to heavy-weight fabrics. Suitable for all climates, cashmere has a high moisture content allowing its insulation properties to change with the relative humidity in the air.

The exponential growth and success f the Oxford cashmere outlet has enabled Moda Mongolia to engage in both internation sales and wholesale. The next step for Moda Mongolia are currently being procatively pusues to include the opening of luxury cashmere outlets in both London and the US.
