Asia Pacific Investment Partners (APIP) recognizes that our workings have a direct effect on the natural environment.  We are quite conscious that the industries we are involved in, such as mining, cement production, andconstruction, are those industries that have some of the greatest impact on theenvironment.  As such, we place a high priority on continuously minimizing the impact to the environment caused by our activities and striving to find more sustainable ways to operate.  Additionally, through our establishment and sponsorship of the Mongolian Institute for Sustainable Economic Development, we have placed ourselves at the forefront of promoting sustainability in Mongolia.

The specific policies of APIP with regard to the environment are to:

• Follow appropriate environmental legislation in our activities, and when such legislation is inadequate or absent, we will exceed it or set our own responsible standards;
• Provide training to our employees in proper environmental practices, and educate them in relevant environmental issues;
• Use energy efficiently and make an effort to reduce overall energy consumption;
• Make additional investments in renewable energy sources every year, especially high-efficiency solar and wind, and implement these technologies in regions lacking a reliable energy supply;
• Assess the environmental impacts of our projects before starting them, making environmental responsibility an important criterion when evaluating project viability;
• Review our activities annually to ensure that they are up to our own standards of environmental performance;
• Strive to minimize the production of waste associated with our activities, recycle or reuse materials whenever possible, and when this is impossible, dispose of waste in a safe and responsible manner;
• Explore ways in which we can make our products and services more efficient and more reusable and to decrease CO2 emissions from our processes, especially cement production;
• Promote good environmental practices within our industries by sharing our knowledge and environmental experience;
• Continue improving our environmental performance by incorporating new research and technology.

With these policies in place, we hope that we can become a leader in environmental responsibility in Central Asia by serving as a role model to other companies and continuing to hold ourselves to the highest standards.  We will also work to create a culture of environmental responsibility among our employees that will continue into perpetuity.  We recognize these goals to be of the highest importance for our company.
